About Randy’s Cheeseburger Picnic

Pat Roach – aka Randy, of Trailer Park Boys fame, is heading out on the road with his two-man comedy show. Helping him warm up the crowd is his longtime friend and comedian/musician, Sheldon Valleau. The duo brings an act both fresh and familiar to fans of the long-running Canadian television show. Show attendees can expect plenty of TPB references, audience participation, and – more importantly – cheeseburgers.

Show notes

I’ve been a fan of Trailer Park Boys for a handful of years now – since before Netflix picked on it, even. They’ve come through town a few times before, but I’ve never been able to attend a show, unfortunately. So, when I found out Randy was coming to Wooly’s, I knew I had to get in on that action. And I’m glad I did; it was a super fun night.

Unfortunately. there was a jerk in the crowd who felt the need to yell out, “Hey, where’s Mr. Lahey?!”.

For those unfamiliar, Mr. Lahey is a Trailer Park Boys character played by the late, great John Dunsworth. Sadly, John passed away on October 16, 2017, so for that guy to make that comment was both rude and unnecessary.

Aside from that, I really enjoyed everything about this show. They kept the crowd laughing and engaged, and it was awesome to see Randy Bobandy (or the Randingo, whichever you prefer) in the flesh! And from a photography standpoint, everything was awesome, as well. The front of the house was seated and it was standing room behind the seats. Wooly’s wasn’t too crowded, so I wasn’t hard pressed to find a good spot to shoot from.

I also got to shoot the entire show, which is always nice.

Bring on the burgers, it’s time for Randy’s Cheeseburger Picnic!
